Bundelkhand Expressway (Package-V) From Saalabad (Dist. Jalaun) to Bakhariya (Dist. Auraiya) (km:200+000 to km: 250+000) in the state of Uttar Pradesh on EPC Basis
Bundelkhand Expressway is a 296 km long, 4-lane wide, access-controlled expressway inUP which connects Chitrakoot with Agra–Lucknow Expressway near Etawah. It connects far flung area of Bundelkhand with state Capital of Lucknow and capital city of Delhi. The state government funded project will serve as a mile stone for development of otherwise neglected part of the state.
The project involves construction of Major Bridge over river Yamuna. The 840m long has 2-span continuous modules of 60m navigable span made continuous by deck slab. The overall width of superstructure is 17.5m with carriageway of 16.5m and 0.5m wide crash barrier on either side. Two independent carriageways with separate foundation are provided. Since, the location of bridge falls under inland waterways of class III, Navigational clearance of 6m above Navigational High Flood Level is ensured.
The superstructure comprises of Precast segmental post-tensioned twin cell box girder. For faster completion of project, overhead launching scheme is adopted for erection of segments. The shortest time cycle for erection of a span is 10 days. The substructure comprises of RCC cantilever pier cap with RCC circular pier of 3.2 m dia whereas spill-through type abutment is provided. Four nos. of spherical bearings are provided to support each span. Circular well foundation of 38.6m depth and 8.0m dia at founding level with tapering to 7.0m dia at top is adopted at pier location. At abutment location, circular well foundation of 21.4m deep and 8.0m dia is adopted.
