Bundelkhand Expressway (Package-IV) From Baroli Kharka (Dist. Hamirpur) to Saalabad (Dist. Jalaun) (km:149+000 to km: 200+000) in the state of Uttar Pradesh on EPC Basis

Bundelkhand Expressway is a 296 km long, 4-lane wide (expandable to 6lane), access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which connects Chitrakoot with Agra–Lucknow Expressway in Etawah district. It connects far flung area of Bundelkhand with state Capital of Lucknow and capital city of Delhi. The state government funded project will serve as a mile stone for development of otherwise neglected part of the state.  

 

The project involves construction of Major Bridge over River Betwa. The 840m long bridge has 3-span modules of 35m long spans made continuous by deck slab. The overall width of superstructure is 17.5m with carriageway of 16.5m. Two independent carriageways with separate foundation are provided.

The superstructure comprises of 5-nos. of precast post-tensioned I-girder with cast-in-situ RCC deck slab. The substructure comprises of PSC Post-tensioned pier cap with RCC circular pier of 2.85m dia for piers whereas spill-through type abutment having 2-nos of shaft is provided at abutment locations. Each span is supported on Eight nos. of spherical bearings. The foundation consists of 1.5m dia, bored, cast-in-situ piles having length of 36m for piers. Well foundation of 24m deep and 8.75m dia is provided at Abutment locations. Modular expansion joints are provided with Sinus plate to reduce the noise. The bridge is constructed in a short span of a year (approx.).
